47 ( +1 | -1 ) what you think about our "game"?someone once told me that chess is a game in which in order for you to win your opponent must make a mistake. if this doesn't happen, the outcome will most probably be a draw. and in a game of supercomputers vs. supercomputers (of equal power) the game will always be a draw. i think that he has a point. i just want to know the opinions of other people..... by the way that someone who make this comment doesn't play chess.
51 ( +1 | -1 ) If only the intelligence of the supercomputer is infinite, I too believe that it's always a draw. Such computer does of course not exist. Experiment below might be interesting.
Set a random but subjectively equal position on chessboard. The materials should be limited (like in an endgame). Then use a standard software (Fritz, Rebel, whatsoever) with the maximum skill level and analysis time.
If the result is always draw, logically the same result/conclusion can be derived with the game starting in the conventional way.
42 ( +1 | -1 ) The IA and the Super ComputerI see your coments and I need to add than the chess is not only a mathematical game. In chess exist various fields and one is: the probability of sequence. This method is not intersec with pieze points or position, all the fields can be very differents, the real hole on lineal mathematics. If a computer can solve de big matrix that alloc all the vars that have influence in chess this computer is not a machine is a human.
81 ( +1 | -1 ) Errors on Computer ChessI had a chess program that runs on MS-DOS, with W95,WNT,... the program not run. This program was very good, I never can to win to him in level Easy and minus in higher levels. One day I decided to win to him and I probe a diferents tactics. All tactics minus one i lost. The tactic with I win was the very poor. The program was to the trash because I repeat the win tactic and the computer lost in all levels.
I can not say what is the tactic but for your I can say that this one is played by me with black in this site in some games not all, only a little, this is a good winchester, when I shut the moves is very dificult for white to win. I can say that the principal moves do a good open game under the dark. I say under the dark because is dificult to apreciate the capacity of diferent moves and the equals capacity on diferent positons or apertures but of equal capacity.
