31 ( +1 | -1 ) Scoop of the day! Fischer coming back!Spassky, Fischer and an Us business man named Alex Títomírov are discussing in Reykjavik Fischers comeback to the table! Still not known who will be playing against him, but high pricemoney is said to be secured already.
36 ( +1 | -1 ) More rumors...Spassky and Titomirov left Iceland in the afternoon after a meeting with Fischer. He seems to be interested in playing a Fisher random match against some high ranked GM but it has not been confirmed who that might be. Peter Svidler has been mentioned as an unofficial chess960 world champ. Another name is circulating ... Garry Kasparov! :-)
22 ( +1 | -1 ) Hmmm...Someone on GK said a couple years ago that a Fischer match would draw a lot of interest. Perhaps be a bigger media even than the actual WC match. . . ?! It will be very interesting to see how things play out }8-)
19 ( +1 | -1 ) Match has been granted hereMatch will be ok played in Iceland. Talk is rabid about who the opponent will be. Fischer says he wants it to be a "good MALE player", guess we can figure on whom it won't be by that.
35 ( +1 | -1 ) Was thinkig the same thing. Why not Judit. Too heck with the odds as she clearly doesn't need them. A kind of Bobby Riggs vs. Billy Jean King match. A has been male champ vs. a female at the top of her game.
Would be good for the game. I'd pay to watch it on pay T.V. The only place it could be played without blipping a few choice remarks that are bound to be spewed.
56 ( +1 | -1 ) apastpawn ...I'm with you on That match. It would be great for the game. Great financially, no doubt. And surely some interesting tactics! (Which reminds me, I gotta go look fo r some Polgar-Anand games, see whats out there!?) But anyway, a very interesting proposition all in all IMO. Spose? :) There might be some remarks of interest. But maybe not at the board. From what I've heard, RJF is Always very professional, perhaps one might even say gentlemanly while playing. Off the board ??! ... well lets hope Judit has no microwave emissions from her chair . . . }B-)
